Faced with the growing challenges of diabetes, Diabandco was created to stimulate open and accessible research.
Diabandco is a development subsidiary of the Société Francophone du Diabète (SFD).
Its mission is to develop the data and biological samples of people living with diabetes, enabling academic researchers and industrial players to develop new research and innovation projects.
Diabandco has positioned itself as a key player in the use of healthcare data in diabetology. By facilitating access to rich, high-quality databases from the monitoring of many patients, the structure aims to :
- support academic researchers, pharmaceutical laboratories and technology manufacturers involved in diabetes management
- ultimately improve care and quality of life for people living with diabetes
Data for better understanding and action
Data from patient monitoring offer a unique and evolving vision of diabetes. They can be used to explore :
- the evolution of the disease over time
- its tangible impact on daily life
- risk factors influencing its progression
- identification of new biomarkers useful for research
Today, Diabandco works closely with the SFDT1 cohort , a study promoted by the FFRD, a strategic resource that paves the way for ambitious, collaborative research projects in the field of type 1 diabetes. Other databases will soon be added to this dynamic, broadening the scope for research and innovation.
Aware of the sensitivity of healthcare data, Diabandco places privacy protection, regulatory compliance and scientific ethics at the heart of its approach. Each project is submitted to dedicated authorities and the scientific committee for rigorous evaluation, and only data from consenting patients is used, guaranteeing responsible and secure data use.
In addition, all Diabandco revenues are reinvested to ensure the long-term survival and development of the databases it manages. This model encourages collaborative and sustainable research, at the service of the scientific community.
SFDT1 is the first French cohort, promoted by the Fondation Francophone pour la Recherche sur le Diabète (FFRD) since 2019, dedicated to people living with type 1 diabetes. It brings together clinical, biological and follow-up data from several thousand patients, offering a unique resource for studying the evolution of the disease, its risk factors and its impact on daily life.
Diabandco is an SFD subsidiary dedicated to the valorization of healthcare data. Its mission is to promote open, collaborative and responsible research to better understand diabetes and stimulate innovation for the benefit of patients.
FFRD is a Foundation state-recognized as serving the public intrest (FRUP), which aims to“promote and support research on diabetes and metabolic diseases, through public and private collaborations”.
FFRD is committed to all stages of diabetes research, and aims to provide sustainable resources for long-term experimental, clinical and translational research projects.
FFRD supports high-quality research programs of international scope, and funds ambitious and promising projects to improve the management of diabetic patients.
