{"id":2484,"date":"2023-12-06T14:44:10","date_gmt":"2023-12-06T13:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ffrd.o3creative.fr\/home\/presidents-foreword\/"},"modified":"2025-02-03T12:00:43","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T11:00:43","slug":"presidents-foreword","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ffrdiabete.org\/en\/home\/presidents-foreword\/","title":{"rendered":"President\u2019s foreword"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][ffrd_title title_level=&#8221;2&#8243; title_align=&#8221;title_align_left&#8221;]President\u2019s foreword[\/ffrd_title][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;64px&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The <strong>Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD)<\/strong> serves as the &#8220;armed wing&#8221; of the Francophone Diabetes Society (SFD) with the aim of promoting excellence in diabetes research, a common disease whose prevalence continues to rise. <strong>High-level and large-scale research is truly essential<\/strong> to get further insight into the mechanisms involved in the development of diabetes and its complications, as well as to improve their treatment and prevention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Between its creation in 2013 up to 2024, the FFRD has supported 31 research projects<\/strong> led by teams of researchers from several Francophone countries, <strong>with a total funding amount of 8.3 million euros<\/strong>. A rigorous review by independent international experts is used to select projects funded by the FFRD. This ensures <strong>a choice of excellence <\/strong>and the prospect of significant advancements, both in fundamental and clinical research<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The funding of <strong>this excellence in research by the FFRD is made possible thanks to our donor partners<\/strong>: the French Federation of Diabetics, and the laboratories Abbott, AstraZeneca, Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Sanofi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the future, the FFRD aims to strengthen its visibility among healthcare professionals, people living with diabetes, and the general public through various initiatives.
