In France, 2.23% of GDP is devoted to research and development, all fields combined.

Associated with public agencies, as INSERM and CNRS, the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research – FFRD, is working to help researchers to find clinical applications to basic research and thus improve the management of millions of diabetic patients.

To enable the researchers to progress in their work and provide real hope to patients, the FFRD wishes to help them to:

  • Better understand the epidemiology of diabetes and develop techniques to prevent its complications
  • Advance the fundamental research on diabetes and metabolic diseases
  • Evaluate the technological and therapeutic innovations for developing effective targeted treatments
  • Improve patients’ lives through the development of innovative approaches.
