The General Regulation on Data Protection (GRDP) is an European regulation which is the reference text for the protection of personal data and which strengthens and unifies data protection for people within the EU.

The GRDP allows you to exercice your rights of rectification, opposition, erasure, portability and limitation of the use of your personal data.

This privacy policy defines and describes how the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD) uses and protects information you provide it, if necessary, when you use its website accessible via the URL www.ffrdiabete.org.

The privacy and protection of your personal data have always been a strong commitment of the FFRD.

Thus, the new regulation has little impact on how we collect and manage your data.

In general, you can visit the FFRD website (www.ffrdiabete.org) without providing any personal information. Therfore, you don’t have to transmit this information to the FFRD.

Nevertheless, you may use our « submission form » to send us your application for our calls for proposals.

As such, by completing our « submission form », you are asked to fill in your surname, first name, email address, phone number, company and function (hereafter your « Personal Information »).

By providing this information, you expressly accept that it will be promesse by the FFRD, for the purpose indicated in the « Purposes of processing » section below and for the purposes stated at the end of each form.

In accordance with the General Regulation on Data Protection (GRDP) adopted by the European Parliament on April 14, 2016, and the Data Protection Act of January 6, 1978, amended, the FFRD informs you on the following points:

 

IDENTITY OF THE CONTROLLER

The controller is the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD), having its headquarters in Paris and its offices at 60 rue Saint-Lazare, 75009 PARIS – France.

PURPOSES OF PROCESSING

The Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD) is likely to deal with your Personal Information:

(a) for the purposes of providing you information or documentation you have requested (in particular on diabetes, on research, on the call for proposals or on the FFRD) ;

(b) for the purposes of managing the calls for research projects of the FFRD ;

(c) for the purposes of providing you with practical information as part of our calls for proposals ;

(d) for the purposes of contacting you regarding your application submission ;

(e) for the purposes of providing you with tax receipts following your donation, in accordance with legal obligations ;

(f) for the purposes of allowing you to review the application files.

 

RECIPIENTS / DATA SHARING

The personal data collected are for the sole use of the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD), for purposes of Internal managment and as part of our relationships with the donors, only when you have expressly given your consent via the files application form.

The FFRD is the only recipient of your Personal Information which is never transmitted to a third party.

The FFRD does not proceed to the marketing, transfer or exchange of personal data of the visitors and users of its website or its submission form, with no other association or for-profit structure.

 

STORAGE LIFE

We keep your personal data during a limited period of time with regard to the purpose of the processing and the limitation periods. This storage period runs from your last activity on our platform. However, you are entitled to request the delation of your personal data at any time by sending an email to: secretariat.

 

DATA SAFETY AND CONFIDENTIALITY (art. 32 GRDP)

The Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD) implements organizational, technical, software and physical measures regarding digital safety to protect your personal data against alteration, destruction, and unauthorized access.

Data collected by the FFRD are hosted and secured by the OVH company.

Our provider meets very strict standards regarding data safety and protection. Files are backed up and access to servers protected by passwords.

 

DATA BREACH AND COMMUNICATION IN 72H (art. 33 et 34 GRDP)

However, it should be noted that Internet is not a complete secure environment and that our platform can not guarantee the safety of the information transmission or storage over the Internet.

In case of violation or suspicion of violation of personal data, the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD) reports the incident to the CNIL as soon as it can, and if possible,  no later than 72h after being aware of it, unless the violation is not likely to create a risk for the human rights and freedoms.

 

EXERCICE OF YOUR RIGHTS

In application of the applicable regulations, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access (article 15 GRDP and articles 39 and 70-19 Data Protection Act), your personal data to know what they are ;
  • Right to update or correct (article 16 GRDP, articles 40 I and 70-20 Data Protection Act) your data, either by logging you into your account and configuring your account settings ; or by requesting the update of your personal data ;
  • Right to erase (article 17 GRDP, articles 40 II et 70-20 Data Protection Act) your personal data when they are inaccurate, incomplete, equivocal, out of date, or whose collection, use, communication or storage is forbidden, in accordance with applicable data protection laws ;
  • Right to withdraw your consent at any time (article 13-2c GRDP) ;
  • Right to limit the processing of your data (article 18 GRDP, article 70-20 Data Protection Act) ;
  • Right to oppose the processing of your data (article 21 GRDP and article 38 Data Protection Act) ;
  • Right to your data portability, when these data are automatically processed based on your consent or on a contract (article 20 GRDP) ;

Before the implementation of one of your rights, the FFRD may ask you for a proof of your identity in order to check its accuracy.

 

• EVOLUTION OF OUR PERSONAL DATA POLICY

Please note that this privacy policy is likely to be modified or completed by the Francophone Foundation for Diabetes Research (FFRD), in order to comply with any legislative, regulatory, jurisprudential or technological evolutions.

This update will be clearly identified at the top of this policy. These modifications engage the user as soon as they are posted online, and he/she must regularly consult this privacy policy in order to be aware of any possible modifications.
